A’DAM ZUIDOOST kikkenstein

The Kikkenstein apartment building is part of the so-called “Bijlmer museum”, the area where the apartment flats will retain their original shape. The commission concerned the improvement of the accessibility.

The new lifts, placed next to the building, shorten the galleries. They are made of glassto maintain the continuous image of the flat and to show the vertical circulation. The interior walkway is a glass arch that curves around the lift shafts, which emphasises the main entrances.
