Hotel The Grand has been based in Amsterdam’s former city hall since 1984. The hotel occupies a complex of 17th-century buildings, a structure in the Amsterdam School architectural style, and a modern part built in the 1980s. Save for this last addition, all buildings have been designated national heritage sites.
The hotel asked us to increase the guests’ comfort by reducing the cold air downdraughts caused by the large windows and limiting street noise pollution in the premises without diminishing any of the architectural and heritage values of this historically significant complex.
